HAPPY LABOR DAY1 min read

Let me first start by wishing everyone a Happy Labor Day. Labor Day was actually the idea of Peter J. Maguire, a labor union leader who in 1882 proposed a celebration honoring the American worker.

Always the first Monday in September, the date was chosen was simply “convenient,” according to Maguire, because it was midway between the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving.

Although the day’s focus on organized labor has diminished over the years, the holiday has become a way to mark the end of the summer season—and the start of the school year.

So, as you’re enjoying your day off at the beach, on your boat, at a picnic or just having a party at home. Recharge, relax, have fun and enjoy.

However, at the same time, I ask you to get clear on September and the fourth quarter of the year. Summer is over, vacations are done, the kids are back at school and it’s time to crank out September through December in business.

Before you know it, we’ll all be looking to the Seasonal Holidays. Today, have that cold one, that burger, that dog. Have fun, enjoy the day and get ready to rock out the remainder of the year in business.

Happy Labor Day, everyone.
