“I Have a Dream”1 min read

I want to wish everyone a Happy Martin Luther King Jr Day. I would also like to ask you to instead of just enjoying the day off, think about those famous words “I Have a Dream.”

“I Have a Dream” was a public speech given by Martin Luther King Jr. during a march on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963. An American clergyman and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. was unfortunately and fatally shot in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968. However, his famous words have never died.

“I Have a Dream” was most likely the thought of many people that have come before us. Dreamers that have helped create the world we have today.

Think about the two Steve’s working out of a garage in the seventies that ended up creating a company that now commands a market value of 700 Billion.

A drug store clerk in 1892 that bought an old fashion kettle, a paddle and a slip of paper with the instructions for mixing certain ingredients for $500, his life savings. A decision that turned into a worldwide brand called Coca Cola.

A man returning from a visit to Italy replicated what he witnessed as a coffee shop that patrons could inhabit for more than just a cup of coffee. We now have Starbucks.

A dream of creating the perfect milkshake maker was the beginning of McDonald’s.

Google, Facebook, Linkedin, Uber the UFC were all just dreams.

Those dreams turned into goals, those goals were nurtured with desire, organized planning, executed with persistence and faith before they became what we know them as today.

I ask you to honor Martin Luther King Jr by getting clear on your dream, turn it into a goal, get after it and make 2017 your best year yet!
