In A Perfect World

Today’s topic is In a Perfect World. However, I’ll ask you a question, and I’m sure you agree with me, do we live in a perfect world? I highly doubt it. It is imperfect. However, I bring this up as a coach, as my job is to get people clear on where they’re going with their organization.

Now, one of the points of mastery is destination mastery, that is knowing exactly what it looks like in a perfect world with your company. How many businesses? How many locations? Are you just the US? Are you local? Are you global? Are you a sole practitioner? Wherever you’re going, wherever you’d like it to be, 5, 10, 20 years out, I don’t know, only you know. However, I find that many business owners don’t know what that looks like. They immediately look at all the different obstacles in the way. However, what I would challenge and encourage you to do today is think about a perfect world, what would you like it to look like?

Same thing with our physical health, in a perfect world, what physique would you like to have? How many pounds would you like to weigh? What would you want your body fat to be? In business, in a perfect world, what would you like your organization to look like? What would you like your team to be like, how do they align with the culture, with accountability and responsibility? How many offices? How big? How small? What type of revenue? What type of clients? What does it look like in a perfect world? If you’re married, what does your marriage look like in a perfect world? Focus on that.

I challenge and encourage you, if you don’t know exactly what it looks like, write down what you would want it to look like in a perfect world. What that will do is give you the vision, the magnet to draw you forward to take action to keep on striving for that perfect world vision.

Do you hit it? Maybe. Maybe not. But you’ll get pretty close. Sometimes you aim for the stars and you don’t reach them, however, you hit the moon. You’re still happy that you got there. Sometimes we have two goals, a realistic goal and a stretch goal. We might be going for that stretch goal, we might not hit it, but we’re pretty happy where we landed up. Probably somewhere in between both goals.

Get clear on what it looks like in a perfect world for you, your organization, your team, your health, your marriage, and everything else that is important to you. Create that vision and let that be the magnet that pulls you forward. Because when you keep your eye on that and the obstacles show up, you will have the ability to keep your eye on the prize and keep moving forward toward that perfect world. And if you need help on creating it, reach out, and give me a call. I’ll be happy to be your guide.
