Keep It Simple3 min read

Do you believe it? We’re in the tail end of March, 2021 already. The last 12 months has been interesting to say the least. I’m going to share five pointers that served my clients and myself well over the last twelve months. It’s all in an effort to focus to keep things simple. Let’s face it, there’s a lot of noise out there that can easily get in our heads, and take us off our A game. It’s this that is going to keep you from getting what you truly want in your business and your life.

In the last 12 months especially, I would tell my clients to focus on five things. Number one, yourself. Take care of yourself, both mentally and physically. Mentally, make sure you’re reading the right stuff. Make sure you’re listening to right stuff. Make sure you’re guarding away from all negative influence that can get in your head. Stay on your A game mentally.

Take care of yourself physically. Take care of your body, get your exercise, get your sleep, get your rest, eat right. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself physically and mentally because you are your number one most important valuable client. You are the person that’s going to take you and everybody behind you on this road to success.

Number two, take care of your family. That’s why we’re here anyways. That’s why we’re doing what we’re doing. Take care of the ones you love. Number three, take care of your organization. Take care of your company. Do what needs to be done to make that organization synergistic, rocking and rolling.

Number four, take care of your team. The people on your team, the people that drive the bus, that drive the organization. I learned that in the restaurant industry that all I really had to do was make the people, the waiters, the waitresses, the bar backs, the cooks feel good about themselves, and they would run the restaurant for me. They’d be on their A game and they would make things happen with a standard of excellence.

And the last, take care of your clients. Your clients are the bread and butter of your business. Those are the people that rely on you to deliver the goods and services to them so they can keep on coming back for more.

So, in this world of noise, focus on yourself, your family, your company, your team, your clients. And a client told me the other day, “Coach, you’re missing one. There’s one more. God.” Focus on your God, the universe that drives you, that you feel connected with. You focus on those things and all that other noise just won’t matter.

Remember, where your focus goes, your energy flows. Keep it simple. Focus on those most important things to you, your organization and business will do just fine. Forget about everything else. Focus on that and that only. Be well and see you at the top!
