Pay Me Now Or Pay Me Later

“Pay me now or pay me later.” What does that mean? It comes down to being educated now, or unfortunately being educated later. Now, what does that mean? We’re in business. We’re entrepreneurs. And even if we’re not, our goal is to be the best we can possibly be. Hopefully get what we want in life, achieve our goals, have freedom, and capture all the fine things that this abundant world provides.

However, there are two dangerous words that if we have in our vocabulary, we’re going to lose out on all that abundance, and those words are, “I know.” If you’re thinking, “I’ve heard this stuff before,” you might as well stop reading right now because you’re going to get nothing from this conversation. Anytime we’re thinking “I know” talking to somebody else, we’re not hearing a word they’re saying. We’ve all heard it. We’ve got two ears and one mouth. Listen more than we speak. You never know what golden nuggets could be in a conversation.

For those of you who are not readers, it is the greatest form of leverage in the world, read somebody else’s book of which they spent hours and years of experience to write, and you can bang it out in an hour to two and capture all that wisdom. Watching podcasts, listening to books, and watching videos. There’s so much knowledge out there in the world. Oh, I forgot. You’re too busy. “I don’t have the time. I got so much going on. Oh, I forgot.” Your choice; Pay me now. Pay me later.

There’s a way to educate ourselves to be the best we can possibly be, to align ourselves with bright people that blow us away with their wisdom and knowledge, where we can just ask them questions to listen and absorb. There are ways we can go outside our comfort zone and create goals that we’re actually afraid that we might not be able to achieve, however, when we go for it anyways, we’re sometimes surprised at what we achieve.

What if we ask ourselves every morning, “What can I do today to get one degree better than yesterday? What can I learn today to get more knowledgeable than I was yesterday? What person could I seek out and ask a question that could help me with an answer that I’m looking for?”

Ask these types of questions, take action on them and you’ll grow. Consider hiring a coach. Get them to be your guide, to tap into infinite intelligence, to mastermind, and tap into your blind spots. Who knows? Six, twelve months from now, you might not even recognize yourself.

Or you’re too busy, you don’t have the time. “I’m not a reader.” Whatever it may be, trust me, your education will come, but it might not be the education you’re looking for. We can either educate ourselves or let the universe educate us. I’ve decided to educate myself. However, I’ve also been educated by the universe along the way, and those have been some of the rough spots, and that’s where a lot of education comes from. As long as you embrace the education opposed to rejecting it.

So, pay me now, pay me later. The choice is yours. It’s simple. Your decision. Go at it alone, because you know enough, or seek advice, because you want to be great.
