Today, I have a challenge for you. We heard it when we were kids. I dare you. And if you’re a fan of the beloved Christmas Story, I double dog dare you. If you really want to get down and dirty, I triple dog, dare you. Now you have no choice but to step up. We heard those quotes and those phrases all the time. I dare you. What exactly does that mean?
Dare, D-A-R-E. Decide. You dare me, bring it on. Decide on the outcome that you want. Decide on your goal. Decide on how you’re going to show up. Decide on what you’re going to accomplish. Decide to make the decision to do whatever it takes. You dare me? I decided to move forward. I decided to apply the A, action. Nothing happens without a plan. Nothing happens without action. We could talk all we want about the stuff we’re going to do someday. However, taking action gets the whole plan in motion.
When you take action on your plan, R, every once in a while, you have to revise the plan. You have to pivot; you need to shift. And once you revise a plan, E, you endure. You continue to endure, move forward because you made a decision. You’re taking the action, you’re revising the plan, and you endure until you get what you want.
So, you dare me? Bring it on. I’ll decide. I’ll take action. I’ll revise a plan. I will endure, and I will win that bet.
