It’s Never to late to Learn3 min read

I’m going to share a story today that’s going to leave several clues that if you pick them up and master them in your organization, your organization will achieve success, wealth, and abundance.

I want to share a little story that I just found astonishing a couple of weeks ago. I have a client in the moving and hauling junk business, he was in the office one early morning and the weather outside was atrocious, windy, rainy, and cold. One of his employees came in with a makeshift raincoat out of a garbage bag, dripping wet early for his shift. Parke asked him, “You’re here early today.” He replies, “yes, I wasn’t able to get a ride today, so I walked to the office to make sure I was on time.” Parke asked him, “Do you have a bike?” His reply was; “I don’t have a license, so I can’t drive. And no one ever taught me how to ride a bike.” A 21-year-old individual has never been taught or learned how to ride a bike. That’s amazing.

What does this organization do? Parke instructed all his guys that if you find a bike that can be fixed up, pull it off the truck. They found a bike, cleaned it up, made sure it was in full working order, and one afternoon, they all got together and focused their time and energy on teaching Jordan how to ride a bike at the age of 21.

Jordan, this young man who comes to work early, walks in the pouring rain, obviously aligned with the culture of the organization. Everyone’s surprised, 21 years old who doesn’t know how to ride a bike because no one ever taught him. They find a bike, fix up the bike, and take the time as a team to teach him how to use this bike so he can ride it back and forth to work until he gets his license.

There are many lessons in this little story. However, I’m not going to share them. What I’d like you to do is to think about it, and write down your lesson of what this company as a whole is delivering to create the culture and synergy of a successful organization. For this blog, instead of me giving you the juice, I’m asking you to find and share it. Again, mastermind, share your thoughts because your thoughts might be an aha for somebody else hearing your comments.
