It was EPIC!3 min read

I belong to a select group called the Red Meat Lovers Club https://rmlclub.com/ . It’s a group where we, once a month get together, raise money for charities, eat fantastic food, have a cocktail or two, and socialize. However, most importantly, there was an event we had several months ago on Saint Patrick’s Day weekend at the South Florida Fairgrounds. It was a long series of tables set up for 100 people on each side for a total of 200 people. The table seemed to go on forever, the drinks were flowing, the food was off the charts, the music set the tone, and much socializing was being had. Evan Darnell the founder of the Red Meat Lovers Club shared, and I would have to agree with him, that the event was Absolutely EPIC.

As I thought about it, I was curious to find out, what exactly does EPIC mean? As follows is what I have come up with.

E, is for Education. You may think getting together, having fun, socializing, eating good food, and enjoying great cocktails might be just fun, however, it’s really educational. It’s about educating people to get together with a community, to socialize and raise money for charities, to pay it forward as they say. Actually, this organization has raised $1.2 million so far for several local charities.

The second is P for Planning. What type of planning does it take to successfully pull off a dinner for 200 people? There was a group  https://potionsinmotion.com/ that served 200 New York strip dinners in a half hour. It was amazing. It was absolutely delicious. This group simply delivered marvelous execution. With that, think of the planning that takes place to create an EPIC event like this.

I, is for Inspirational. When you’re getting together, having fun, and raising money for charities, you’re helping others. That’s giving back. You’re creating a win/win. That’s inspirational.

And the C is for Commitment, commitment to do what’s right, to have fun, to create a community. That’s a win-win for everybody. When we’re getting together and raising money, we’re having fun socializing, we’re eating great food, we’re having great cocktails, but most important, we have a commitment to give back to the community and help those who are less fortunate.

Evan Darnell, my hat’s off to you because you consistently create epic events. If any of you want to create an EPIC event, remember Education, proper Planning, Inspiration, and Commitment are the ingredients in the creation of EPIC!
